Church Logo & Vision

What is our Vision & Core Values?

Vision is what we 'cherish'; Core values are our 'endeavors'. '
Vision
"To become a church that serves our neighbors and embraces the world."
Following Acts 1:8, we aim to serve our community--much like Jerusalem and all Judea--with the Gospel and love by receiving power from the Holy Spirit. Also, we are preparing for reunification with North Korea--our Samaria--and want to embrace all nations--the ends of the earth. "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." (Acts 1:8)
The Ministry Plan of 2024
The house the LORD builds, the city the LORD keeps (Psalms 127:1)
Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain(Ps 127:1, ESV)
Action Plan
I. To build church members to be imitators of God.
  1. Let each member imitate God.
    - We will repent of habitual sins and restore our relationship with God.
    - We will commit more than 30 minutes daily for prayer, bible reading and meditation.
    - We will simplify our lives and make our relationship with God our highest priority.

  2. Let each family imitate God as the subject of faith and education.
    - We will regularly engage in family worship service together with our children.
    - We will encourage our children to attend our Sunday and Midweek Bible Schools.
    - We will communicate with our members by phone or text at least twice a week and encourage one another.

  3. Let us imitate God at work.
    - We will work sincerely at work as if serving God.
    - We will serve our work colleagues like serving our church members.
    - We will take care of our fellow workers' needs.

II. To build up NamSeoul Church to truly imitate God.
  1. To imitate God through all nurturing ministries.
   1) To imitate God through every worship service.
    - We will make every effort to participate in Sunday and other corporate worship services through on and off-line mediums.
    - We will make every effort to participate in Wednesday parish worship services and our small group ministries through on and off-line mediums.
    - We will serve and care for new members.

   2) To educate the next generation to know and imitate God.
    - We will connect Sunday school curriculum with the Midweek Bible School effectively.
    - We will strengthen its connection to the home.

   3) To build up our seniors to truly imitate God.
    - We will encourage those who have difficulty in getting together and then we will raise up them to live devout lives.
    - We will develop and activate the areas in which our seniors can serve at home and abroad.
    - We will take more care of those who are vulnerable to COVID-19.

   4) To build up church members in their 30s and 40s to imitate God.
    - We will raise up and nurture our members in their 30s and 40s who are birthing and rearing young children.
    - We will help and raise up our members in their 30s and 40s to make their home and workplaces into places of faith like church.
    - We will serve them directly by proactively visiting their workplaces.
    - We will make every effort to help them to live devout lives and to nurture their children in faith.

   5) To imitate God through fellowship and communication of church members.
    - We will improve communication between departments and across generations through on and off-line mediums.
    - We will enrich our internal serving and caring while avoiding face to face gatherings.

  2. To imitate God through serving our many neighbors.
   1) To imitate God through taking care of our members in need.
    - We will continue to help our members and family members who fall ill and our neighbors in need.
    - We will serve them actively through the mutual aid system, scholarship, and the Bethesda medical assistance foundation of our church.

   2) To imitate God through the aid systems of our church serving neighbors and communities.
    - We will open the goods and food sharing church bazaars suitable to the present COVID-19 situation.
    - We will expand community services through welfare and community service, domestic mission, and medical mission committees of our church.
    - We will serve the needs of various communities and dependent churches.

   3) To imitate God through helping and serving North Korea.
    - We will expand our understanding of North Korea and missions for it through the 'Reunification and Missions Academy' and 'South-North Sharing movement'.
    - We will expand the bases for helping and serving North Koreans in need through developing mission work for them.
    - We will expand the bases for helping and serving North Koreans struggling due to COVID-19 and other disasters through developing aid work for them.
    - We will help North Korean defectors who can act as catalysts for reunification and serve their churches.
    - We will support 'Yeomyung School'.

   4) To imitate God through our mission work to other nations.
    - We will look for those devoted to mission works to other nations and expand the base of them.
    - We will expand our heart for further mission work by supporting foreign missionaries.
    - We will reach out to foreigners in our country through strategic and missional plans.
    - We will expand our aid for the missionaries-on-the-field relating to COVID-19 in direct and indirect ways.

III. To imitate God through construction of a church building.
    - We will come to agreement over the architectural plan and space arrangement.
    - We will proceed with various public hearings and seek God's abundant grace on these opinion converging processes.
    - We will proactively visit our kwonsa assembly, our church assembly, our 30s and 40s group, 20s group, and our church education committees to hear their opinions.
    - We will seek God's wisdom for the architectural plan and space arrangement to optimize the education of the next generation.
    - We will make every effort to build our church education building filled with grateful thanksgiving.
    - We will seek God's help us to locate devout members, who can carry out the work responsibly.
    - We will expand and reorganize our church construction preparation committee.
    - We will put the right members in the right positions for construction.
    - We will benchmark good referential churches.

- Greeting

In the name of our Lord God, we welcome and bless everyone who visits the website of NamSeoul Presbyterian Church.

Our church wishes to serve our neighbors and communities by renewing and saving peoples through God's words and worship.

We especially anticipate that the precious Cross of Jesus not only makes us born again and live new lives but leads those changed by the Cross to heal the sick and to renew our communities.

We'd like to become a church like that, so we ask for your prayers. Also, I wish you to be so blessed as to become such saints.
